A major automotive spare parts supplier
CNC loading of gearbox/motor housings
A manufacturer specialising in the production of precision aluminium alloy automotive parts supplies gearbox and engine housings to major automotive companies. To improve production capacity and product processing consistency, industrial robots were introduced to achieve automated loading. The pallet size is large, and when it is transported to the processing station by forklift, the positioning accuracy of loading becomes a problem due to the low placement accuracy and the error of about +20mm. On the other hand, the complex shape of the workpiece, frequent change, adjustment, maintenance, change of special tooling cost is high, after research, the user deployed 3D vision system to solve this problem, to achieve flexible production.
SOLUTION
AT-S1000-04A-E Binocular laser line 3D camera
The product is characterised by high precision, fast deployment and easy maintenance. Lightweight and compact, with a high degree of intelligence and versatility, without the need for secondary development, it helps users to realise flexible production.
Precise positioning
The 3D vision system corrects the deviation of the pallet in place, accurately locates the spatial position of the shell to be gripped, and guides the robot to load the material accurately.
High adaptability
With reflective surfaces on some specification parts, the laser imaging solution is able to capture a complete, high quality 3D point cloud and adapt to changing light conditions on site.
Lower input costs
The system can replace non-reusable positioning fixtures, quickly change and introduce new materials according to production demand, and making production lines more flexible
Easy to use
The system is easy to use, and the software can be used without programming. Daily only need appearance cleaning, fixing and other routine maintenance, service life of not less than 5 years.
