The customer set up an unmanned assembly workshop and used robots to replace manual labour to complete the kitting of various assembly components of the gearbox. The shaft and gear workpieces have strong reflective characteristics and are precision machined parts that require high gripping accuracy. 3D vision system helps the robot to identify the various types of parts such as pins, gears, bearings, etc., and guides the robot to grip the parts according to the requirements and place them in sequence on the dispensing tray, allowing flexible switching of the dispensing scheme according to the production plan. The 3D camera arm is mounted at the end of the robot and slides on the seventh axis to handle multiple material frames, improving overall equipment utilisation.
