An automotive parts manufacturer
Visual guidance for grinding large castings
Artificial grinding of large castings has a large workload, harsh environment, boring content, difficulty in recruiting labour, and the quality of artificial grinding is affected by the skill and sense of responsibility of grinding workers, and the consistency needs to be supervised. The consistency of the parts to be polished is not good, and it is not possible to realise the positioning by the standard tools. The size of some workpieces is very large, and it is difficult for the field of view of conventional vision products to cover them all at once, and the vibration during the grinding process is large, which is a great test of the structural stability of the vision camera. The customer uses the 3D vision system to guide the robot to polish, which effectively replaces manual labour and improves labour efficiency and production consistency.
SOLUTION
AT-S1000-06C-S
Binocular fringe grating 3D camera
The products are characterized by high precision, high beat rate. Lightweight and compact, with a high degree of intelligence and versatility, without the need for secondary development, it helps users to realise flexible production.
Point cloud splicing
For large and shaped workpieces, the 3D vision system can realise workpiece positioning using point cloud stitching technology.
Position correction
The 3D vision system replaces non-reusable positioning devices, realises the overall correction of the grinding path and locks the exact positional information of the grinding start point.
High stability
The product adopts one-piece machined and moulded alloy body with high vibration resistance, which can meet the stability requirements of long-term continuous operation for grinding users.
Easy to use
The system is easy to use, and the software can be used without programming. Daily only need appearance cleaning, fixing and other routine maintenance, service life of not less than 5 years.
