The customer built a new automated machining line and introduced a 3D vision system to guide the robot in destacking and machine loading flat weld flange stacks. The rough parts are dark coloured rings stacked to form a stack, the position of the parts is relatively random and the overall size of the stack is large, requiring a large field of view. The laser 3D camera with a large field of view selected for the project is installed at a higher position, which can cover large stacks and has high compatibility with dark-coloured and black light-absorbing workpieces. It can easily obtain the coordinate information of the position of the workpieces and guide the robot to accurately pick up the materials, effectively reducing the labour intensity of the workstations and increasing the efficiency of automated loading.
