Project Background：

Washing machine counterweights are made of concrete and are relatively heavy, making manual handling and loading time-consuming and labor-intensive. In addition, different production plans require multiple counterweight specifications to be loaded in batches at the same workstation. The customer therefore needed an automation upgrade. By deploying a 3D vision system, the customer guides robots to handle and depalletize the counterweights. Fast template switching enables multiple counterweight models to be processed at the same workstation, ensuring line efficiency, improving equipment utilization, and reducing production costs.

3D Vision System for Counterweight Position Solution：

- Counterweights are irregular in shape and stacked under pressure. The 3D vision system identifies part orientation, obtains the spatial coordinates of positioning holes, and guides accurate robotic picking and loading. - A large-FOV, large-depth-of-field structured-light 3D camera covers large stacks and improves depalletizing efficiency. - The 3D camera is fixed-mounted and works in parallel with the robot, without affecting overall cycle time. - The 3D vision system quickly identifies different counterweight models and specifications, enabling flexible model switching and new model introduction according to production needs. - The system is highly integrated and easy to deploy. The software is no-code and easy to use.
- Routine maintenance only, system service life ≥5 years.
