ALSONTECH CEO Mr. Miao Qingwei: to realize real flexible tooling, robot needs to be "smart and handy

2017-04-18 16:54

ALSONTECH is an enterprise dedicated to providing professional robotic 3D vision positioning solutions to industrial customers.

The products include robotic 3D positioning systems, 3D laser cameras, online intelligent three-dimensional measurement systems, etc. The company has cooperated with many international companies such as ABB,KUKA, Gree, and Kawasaki, etc.

Mr. Miao Qingwei, the founder and CEO of ALSONTECH, who has been engaged in technical and marketing work forworld-renowned industrial automation manufacturers for decades, has a good understanding of the technical trends and market prospects of the industrial measurement and robotics industry, and is particularly passionate about new industrial technologies.

It is for this reason that he resolutely resigned in 2014 and set up his own robot vision company ALSONTECH. In 2017, the company received tens of millions of angel round financing from DL Capital.

Flexible tooling is the requirement of the times

In traditional industrial automation production, the bulk workpieces on the production line are often placed randomly in the frames, or the position deviation on the production line is large, so workers need to place them on the right place for further processing, which is time-consuming and wastes labor.

"How to enable industrial robots pickrandom objects without the need for positioning tooling, and realize true flexible tooling, this is particularly important in the popularization ofindustrial robots," said Mr. Miao Qingwei.

3D vision recognition technology

AT-S1000 series robotic 3D positioning system is a positioning system based on 3D binocular + laser scanning technology. Combining multiple laser scanning and camera orientation technologies, the system quickly scans the workpiece, obtains 3D point cloud data and sends the accurate positioning information to the robot for exact picking with user-defined placing.

To put it simply, robot on the conventional industrial automation production line is a programmed robotic arm, but with ALSONTECH AT-S1000 series robotic 3D positioning system, it has a pair of smart eyes and brain and can recognize and analyze objects and perform efficientuser-defined operations.

2D vision can also provide visual guidance, but can only solve simple basic recognition of objects on a plain surface. However, in the automated production line, some workpieces are piled up or scattered randomly where 2D vision cannot no longer be applied.

While 3D vision recognition is like human eyes, in addition to seeing objects, it can also obtain the depth information of the objects, and can realize positioning recognition at multi-dimensional angles. For high-standard industrial production lines, it is obvious that 3D vision recognition technology has a wider application.

Standard configuration and customized services

Mr. Miao Qingwei introduced, "There quired accuracy of general industrial assembly lines is 0.2-1mm, which is nota problem for our 3D vision systems. In some cases, we could achieve a recognition accuracy of 0.05mm. Compared with manual operation, It can save 90% of the operating time. "

The system is applicable to a production line with multiple product types. When adding a new model, the customer only needs to create a new model. There is no requirement for product type, as longas the product is within the scanning range.

We support a variety of standard industrial robots, fully compatible with ABB, KUKA, FANUC, Yaskawa, UR, Kawasaki, Nachi,Hyundai and other well-known robot communication protocols, which can be customized according to customer requirements, providing a complete one-stopsolution.
